My orange citrus tree seems to be going through the tweens:22yikes:... Gone Wild! Prickly! and Sour!!! What's happening? Is there a fix?

sounds like the graft has returned to the root stock. usually caused by lack of water or neglect.

your orange tree has sprouted from below the graft, and the hybrid portion of the tree is long gone. so, in essence, you have a wild orange tree. throw it out.

Previous posters are probably correct. It is common practice to graft "good" orange tree stock onto a "sour" orange tree base in order to get a hardier tree which produces good oranges. Sometimes the tree reverts to the sour stock, usually growing out from below the graft, and the tree does not produce good oranges. Sounds like yours has gone "wild."
