Just the way you catch them, right Steve. Now there are having a one in a million day and look at the results. Just where were they fishing? That would have made one nice fish fry.

My 5 best occurred last year in June and I had 22 lbs & change. These guys had this in 3 fish. My 2 largest I caught Tue at Lake Weir added up to a little over 6#. Uh....I got a way/weighs to go.
The location they were fishing is approximately 2 hrs south of TV. You don't have to go that far....2 guys from Leesburg spoke at The Villages Freshwater Fishing Club meeting last year. On Feb 18th, 2012 they caught 5 that weighed 37.60 and needless to say WON the tournament. Since then in Aug of 2012 that weight was exceeded to an astonishing 39 lbs. I forget the ounces but.... Both these weights were amassed from the Harris Chain. They might mention the lure type used and location but you can bet it'll be pretty generic....shallow diving crankbait thrown over some eel grass.....kinda like a mushroom hunter having a secret spot in a woods.
ALL fish caught in a bass tournament are released after weigh-in. Tournament anglers are penalized ounces if they bring in a dead fish....and some tournaments won't even allow you to bring them to the scales.
The majority of bass fisherman practice catch & release. ALL fish caught in The Villages are "supposed" to be catch & release. And don't kid yourself for a minute that there aren't trophies swimming around inside the "bubble" and caught from the shore of our many ponds.
C Ya 2nd Tue of the month at the meeting.
