Rule #1 of social media...NOTHING is EVER PRIVATE....regardless of how it is sent or who receives it. Dont post anything you donot want the world to know. Lets not forget that.

Of course we all think TOTV is different, but it is social media.
If you post on a social media board, some people, to your delight, will embrace your beliefs, but critics will be comming your way, and yes, some will be mean. Its not right, but this what is happening. Many comments posted are mis-interperted or its not what the poster really intended to say. It doesnt have to be political, it could be any subject from the mundae to some controversial issue. Just look at the problems with facebook and the "Bullying" issues faced by many including some of your grandkids!! Although our moderators try to maintain a sense of decency,(and do a good job), TOTV is still social media!

Social media Boards (including TOTV) are not for everyone ..... There are people who simply want to be antagonists and stir up the pot, while others (believe it or not) are very shy people and probably would never say any of the things they say here on TOTV in a face-to-face forum. Some people have fragile egos, are sheltered in many ways from everyday life and are just not savoy in todays electronic world. REMEMBER: TOTV is NOT a utopia....dont believe everything you read, not everyone will agree with you, and your feelings may sometimes get hurt.

Social boards are great places to share a wealth of information as long as we remember its source and dont take it to the bank before verification.

Remember also that anything you post on the Internet will be there forever. And nothing is private.

Including your phone number. If you post it here, the search engines can find it. My caller ID showed a missed call from a number that I did not recognize. I googled the number and was able to identify it when the search results showed that the number had been posted on TOTV.
