Can anyone give us snowbirds an update on Church on the Square?? Will it have Christmas programs like it has had in years past? Read some of the other threads but didn't see anything about this. Also, haven't been down to SS square, so don't know....is the church addition finished? If not when? and what will be going on there once it is done? Thanks!:shrug::shrug:

There has been no indication of what programs will, or will not, be provided at COS. I have communicated with Gary Lester, PR head for TV, and he simply said to watch for future announcements in the Daily Sun. Also no indication of whether church services will be held there in the future. I believe they said construction would take about one year, which would mean Aug. 2014.

We went to see and hear The Village Voices at Northlake Presbyterian Church, behind Home Depot. They can seat at a guess close to a thousand and the church was full. It was an opportunity for even MORE people to hear their lovely concert.

So music still goes on at different venues, and all seems to be fine.

They have been working on the foundation and footers. No steel has been erected as of yet.

At last Tuesday's POA meeting, someone asked about additional parking at COS. The response was, "none has been announced." With the modification they'll be adding 200 seats to COS with the intention of migrating all commercial entertainment from the Savannah Center to COS. The Savannah Center is to be returned to its original purpose as a regional rec center.

From whom did you hear it please?

In the recent years, one non denominational service was held per week at noon on Sunday with a variety of leaders.

I have only heard that nothing has been said about church services at all by SumterInc.
