Yes, we have a cat problem around the square at Lake Sumter. Thanks to all those who are trying to make a difference to resolve this issue and give these furry friends a chance.

Special thanks to Travis and Jennifer with AT&T (Lake Sumter) who helped save a little kitten (no more than 5 weeks old) tonight. For two days and nights I kept trying to reach her, but she was so hidden, all you could hear is the non-stop crying which was heart breaking.

Tonight with the help of Travis and Jennifer she is safe and sound. Travis took her home to continue helping her/him have a fighting chance! (The look this little kitten gave us once she knew she was safe and warm was priceless!) That alone was well worth effort!

*****************************

The MORAL of this story is that it's so nice to know that people like Travis and Jennifer took time out of their night to help make a difference! Please pet lovers, stop by and give Thanks to these folks...I am sure these folks could be out and about with their friends tonight, instead they are caring for a very lucky little girl/boy (we don't know yet) We sometimes fail to give thanks to those who offer a helping hand to make a difference! These furry friends DEPEND on people like Travis and Jennifer to have a fighting chance of a better life!

We are hoping a Villager is looking to take in a furry friend, it would be great if we could keep her/him here within the Villages, after all...clearly she was born here! Do please let me know if anyone here is interested in giving a warm loving home to a very lucky little one! Email kris753@yahoo.com or stop by and see Travis at AT&T at Lake Sumter. Did I mention she/he is very very cute!

Yay! I wonder if this is the same kitten the Fire Dept saved from the electrical box when Duffysmom called. I will definitely stop by to give my thanks

:clap2: I also wonder if it's the same kitten. The kitten I saw was tiny, gray with gray eyes but a wildcat. She would not be held and fought the fireman like crazy until he dropped her (gently) and off she went. Thank heavens they had heavy gloves on. I looked for her yesterday but no luck. The cold weather is arriving so it's sad to think about. I will stop in and thank Travis & Jennifer for their kindness to one of God's creatures.

Cold weather yes, but rest assured, they should be fine. If the cats outside can survive in the North, they should be ok down here. Especially if momma cat lets them cuddle up. :)

There was no mommy cat....and no don't think she would have survived another night, she was very weak, and being less than 4 weeks old, maybe younger...she would not have survived...outdoor cats do find a way to survive, but when so young their chances are less!

Sorry... misunderstanding. I was referring to the kitten Duffysmom had saved when the momma cat led her to the kitten stuck in an electrical box. We were wondering if it was the same kitten but it doesn't sound like it.
