Looking for a good home for our cockatiel. Comes with cage. Beautiful grey body with bright orange & yellow cheeks. Great pet for the right person. Our dog and the cockatiel do not play well together.

Please, can we have some more info on your bird? Age? Does he talk? Male or female? Bought from a breeder or from Petco or Petsmart? Hand fed at birth? What kind of cage?

Cockatiel's are wonderful birds. I had one for 29 years, and he talked up a storm. We had a dog and they avoided each other so no real issues. Toby was pretty partial to his mom and anyone else, well, they avoided him too! But, he was great company, easy to manage and we could go away for a weekend and not worry about him. Nice addition to the family to have.

We only had budgies (parakeets). They talked a lot but were always plotting to escape and sometimes did.

Debbie, it is remarkable that you had Toby for 29 years. How long do they live?
I love birds, especially cockatiels but my hubby isn't a fan.:ohdear:
Hopefully this little guy finds the perfect home here in TV, after all he is a senior.

Yup, he was a special little guy. He never aged! I've talked w/ people who have had them 30 years. The one posted her sounds adorable and would make someone a great companion. As mentioned, they are very easy to take care of.

SanFranDiane, in case you are unfamiliar with cockatiels, let me say they are such FUN birds! They are quieter than the bigger parrots and yet are very interactive. They are easier to travel with than bigger parrots. We put ours in a little travel cage, cover him, and take him in the car with us when we travel. When we get to our destination, we assemble a bigger cage.

The cage that OP is describing sounds like the right size. This would be a good deal.

We love our guy. He's a hoot. He's so cocky! Until some loud noise scares him; then he jumps out of his cage and comes waddling over to us at full speed.
