Recycling Venetian Blinds

We replaced our virtually brand new Venetian blinds with plantation shutters in two rooms of our house and now would like to recycle the old blinds. Goodwill doesn't take them. The hospice thrift store doesn't take them. Habitat for Humanity's Restore only takes new blinds in the box.

Has anyone had luck with recycling old blinds???

Does anyone need blinds for a Lantana's master bedroom and/or front room bay window?
