Check out the Postcard Inn if you're looking for a smaller hotel right on the beach with a great tiki bar.

Been to Tradewinds with grandkids and we all had a great time... May not be good for romantic getaway but great for family activities!

We lived on St Pete Beach for 25 years. The Don is expensive - nice but in my opinion not worth the money. The Tradewinds has several properties. It is a nice resort with lots of amenities. I haven't been to Post Card Inn but people seem to like it. The Grand Plaza and the Sirata are also mid level resorts. Stay away from the older Mom and Pop motels - most of them have not been renovated. Also, make sure your hotel is on the gulf side not the bay side. Enjoy - St Pete Beach is a beautiful place to vacation.

The Tradewinds!

We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa and it was great - especially
when you have kids/grands.

I just had my high school reunion at the Sirata Resort and honestly I wouldn't stay there again. For $119 a day in November I would of liked a better room. For example I like a walk-in shower, not a shower in the tub. My Master card had fraudulent charge of $650 a week later and it hadn't been used anywhere else. Drinks at the pool bar were a can of beer and a chardony were $14. Parking Spaces were limited. The only positive was the food at our banquet was great. Also for sightseeing checkout the boardwalk at John's Pass on Maderia Beach which is just north of St. Pete Beach.
