We won't be getting into TV until Xmas Eve around 7:30 pm. :plane: (I know, bad timing). Does anyone know if SweetBay or Publix will be open at that time? My husband wants to bring a frozen turkey in his carry on luggage., and we won't be much good without coffee in the morning.:mornincoffee: Thanks in advance. Linda

You might coordinate the home shopping service that advertises on here and your sales rep to let them in to lay in a few items the day before so you can have a lovely Christmas dinner. .

SweetBay will close at 7:00 pm on Christmas Eve, Publix will be open normal operating hours.

I like Gracie's idea - give them a list and they'll stock your fridge if you would like.

Well, that's ambitious. I've carried three dozen frozen tamales from Texas to Florida in my checked luggage before, but never considered a whole turkey. And certainly not in carry on. I'll be interested in how TSA handles it.

Even if you get in too late for the big grocery stores to still be open, the convenience stores associated with gas stations should be open.

I think Graciegirl has a good solution. Get your sales rep to stock up a few things for you.

And Wal-Mart will be open and they have a pretty decent grocery selection.

I assume they'll pat the turkey down. Wonder if they'll search the innards. Maybe they'll just confiscate it and eat it themselves.

If you get stuck for a solution. I will go shopping for you but it will have to be before I leave for Ohio for Christmas.

Thanks to all. If Walmart is open, we should be fine. I may investigate Gracie's recommendation, that sounds worthwhile. I also wonder what the TSA will think about a turkey in the carry on luggage.:faint: If he brings it, I will follow up when we arrive, may be interesting. :MOJE_whot:
Thanks again, Linda

One word of advice. Having been in a hotel last Christmas eve/day, the number of restaurants open is very slim. Surprised the heck out of me...
