If I purchase another laptop, is it easy to transfer the information you want to new computer? Meaning like pictures etc. I guess when you log on to AOL, MSN etc, you are automatically logged into the website?? Yes, I will admit it, not that too computer savvy!!! LOL

The easiest way to do it is with a Belkin cable. It provides a link so you can transfer everything or as much as you want. I think RadioShack has them.

That's it?? Is there like a disk I have to insert also? I have Norton 360 that backs up everything. Actually I don't know what it backs up, but it does. hehehe

A novice computer owner might be intimidated at the procedure to transfer data from one PC to another. a CFLGEEK technician can easily help you with this.

For more advanced users. Purchase an 'Easy Transfer Cable" which will include a CD with software and instructions. The basic procedures are linked below.

If your old computer is Windows XP/Windows 7 and your new one is -

* Windows 7 - use this procedure
Transfer files and settings from another computer (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/transfer-files-and-settings-from-another-computer)

* Windows 8 - use this procedure

Same procedure as above but the path is...

Open Windows Easy Transfer by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking All Programs, clicking Windows System, and then clicking Windows Easy Transfer.* Administrator permission required If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

I just called a friend who is a computer guru when I got a new computer. He works on computers for a living and he has a great price. He also works at City Fire. Great guy. John Chumbler 352-205-2032.
