Thursday morning in the hotel restaurant in Taos, NM a lady asked where were from. My wife said, The Villages. The lady shrieked with delight. "Oh," she said, "everyboy know The Villages."
So here we are in Sedona, Arizona. The check out clerk in the Safeway grocery store asked us where we were from. The Villages, we said. "OH!!!!!!!!!!, He said, "my mother lives there....In Largo."

And a couple weeks ago we were having dinner at a restaurant in Jackson, WY when in walked four people, one of whom was wearing a Villages Olympics tee-shirt. We introduced ourselves and picked their brains best as we could standing in a restaurant, and they seemed thrilled to share info with us. One couple owns a home in TV, while the other (friends from home) rent each year. The older we get, it seems that the number in 'six degrees of separation' gets smaller....

The Villages must be getting pretty big if it claims Largo now? :joke:

Village of Largo is south of Lake Sumter on Canal.

I was in a local store today and somehow the fact that I was moving to Florida came up ::) ::). When asked where I said "TV".
Guess what her sister and sister-in-law both live in TV.

Now, tell me it's not a small world!!!!!

My contention is that everyone over 50 east of the Mississippi River knows somebody who lives in the Villages. West of the Miss not quite so prevalent. It is amazing.

I have been living in Ontario (Canada) for a long time. I was recently having a "reunion" lunch with girlfriends in Nova Sotia (that's in Canada, folks), and I was telling my girlfriends I had bought in TV. You can't get much further away from TV in North America!! One of my high school girlfriends said: "Oh yes, a lot of my friends get together in April every year and rent houses and go down there to golf"! Guess I shouldn't be surprised .. small world. TV rocks. ;D
