the focus on seafood was all based on the Catholic church of those times/days one was to not eat meat....hence seafood.
Our favorite has always been no meat Christmas eve (all day) then the frying of the sausage after midnight.
We also find that the younger generations enjoy participating in some of the tradional favorites.....as long as it does not interfere with their priorities or lifestyle.......for us the priority was and is the family. Many of the "current" generation(s) do not have that same priority......UNFORTUNATELY!

I do!!!!
Unfortunately, there is no one left in the family, who has that kind of talent and is willing to do all the work necessary, to put on a feast.
My aunt used to store cookies in several large tins, almost like garbage pail, as there were so many. They also went fast as she had a lot of people stopping over on Xmas Eve and Xmas day to eat these delicious cookies. I remember going with my uncle Joe on his rounds, to see his family. I missed those days, as it was all about good food and being in a loving family environment.
Oh well!!! Time, for new beginnings!!!
