I received a letter from the water utility staying that I'm using 10 times the normal amount of water. I just bought the home, so I have no history on what my consumption should be, but 30,000 per month does seem very high.
Can anyone recommend a contractor to check out our plumbing?

Potable water or irrigation water? New home or resale?

It is a resale home. The letter doesn't specifically say whether it's the potable water or the irrigation water, but the list of "possible problems" leans heavily toward irrigation.

In Poinciana your water bill should show both amounts.
Begin by checking all of the timer settings including days to water and run times for all programs.

First move would be to turn everything off and see if both meters are still. If one is moving, you've got a leak .

If the home is North of 466, you only have one meter. If you are South of 466, you have one meter for Potable and one for Non-Potable water. Here's a link to the average home usage. 30,000 is high.
