Sadly, no. Only Comcast has that station.

Only Comast, but, in my opinion, you aren't missing much by not having The Villages' channel.

I would not make my decision of what provider to use or not based on TV channel 2 being available or not.
After you watch it once you've done your pennance....watch it at somebody's house that has it.

Your not missing anything. DirecTV is way superior to Comcast.

Thanks for the info! I thought I was missing something but I guess not. I do enjoy my Direct TV after being a Comcast customer all my life.

Directv is the way to go, if your a sports enthusiast. You get the NFL Sunday ticket "free", the first year. They also give you, "free" movie channels for 3 months. You have to let them know, if you want to cancel these channels before the 3 months are up or you will see it in your bill #4. Reasonably priced, for the channels you get.
I would strongly suggest you get the free upon installation, recording DVR type receiver, (Genie) or request it, within a two week period, or they will not give you a free upgrade, if you want to change it back to the recording type receiver. They informed me there was a $199 fee, to upgrade to the DVR type receiver or I would have to wait until March of 2015. Major bummer of a mistake, on my part. :(
Another thing, they don't tell you, is that, if you decide to have the satellite dish installed in your yard, as opposed to, on the roof, a $80 charge will be assess to your bill, for this type of installation. An outside company does the installation and not Directv. the truck will have the labeling of Directv but it's a vendor type situation. they really know what they are doing and are very professional.
Overall, Directv rarely goes down, Maybe on a rainy, non sunny day with all cloud covered. If it does, it only goes out, for a few minutes, at it's worse. HD reception is about the same for both companies. I still prefer Directv, as I am a sports nut. IMHO

Another cheer for Direct TV. We've been customers for 18 years. We had to fight our condo board to have it in MI. We appealed to FCC, as there are laws about it. We've never looked back. We had to have Comcast at our apartment in Pittsburgh, and there is no comparison between the two. Direct TV wins hands down in our opinion. Rarely a problem with reception. Also, in our opinion it's easier to figure out the remote stuff than with Comcast. Albeit we are not very tech savvy re remotes and such; just computers.
And the sports... NFL ticket is my fave.

Nice to have you back form Australia. I ddn't know you liked football so much!
It is my favorite too, and well worth keeping Directv for that reason alone. If one wants to get crazy, one could order basketball and hockey for the season. Still reasonably priced for what one gets, but I would need to stayed glued to my chair, for long periods of time.

There was something called low power UHF TV. I see Orlando feed on DirecTV has a lot of stations. If Villages TV broadcast its signal on a small transmitter, all providers would be required by FCC to carry it.
