Dr Khan is a new doctor in Dr Abu's office. I really like her. She is into lifestyle and diet changes rather than handing you a prescription for everything.

I went to a meet and greet with Dr. Agbo. I wasvery impressed with his training and treats his patients like an old style doctor would have.
I was there for about 40 minutes and he seemed to not mind at all as most doctors want to rush onto their next appointment. I felt totally comfortable when in his office, and his staff is super nice people.
Schedule a meet and greet sessions that will cost you nothing, and decide for yourself, if he is the right doctor for you.

I go to Dr. Marivec Villa. She also is not too quick with the prescription pad and takes a genuine interest in her patients. She offers many services, such as lab and pharmacy in house - but has no problem with me using my own lab & pharmacy. Her office is located on Buenos Aries. She participates in most insurance plans. (Just out of Golf Cart Range).

Having come from a medical family I have an eye for doctors who care and are willing to go the extra yard. One way to find a Dr is to ask RNs at the local hospital. A sort of 'off the record' question from at least three nurses.
I did just that and two of the three mentioned Dr. Banala.
NY trained Brooklyn Hospital.
With his aid I lost 24 pounds in six months. Lowered my BP and Cholesterol to half of what it was and followed his advice to get a cardio angiogram. HE FORCED ME to and I'm only 56 years old.
Last week they put a stent in with 80% blockage of the lower decending artery.
My cardio Dr was recommended my Banala and his staff is great.
I've considered moving to Sarasota to be near family but frankly after this I don't want to leave Dr. Banala

2B - You might want to check with your insurance company - I can't imagine any doctor meeting with someone for 40 minutes and not billing for it. The meet and greet at The Villages Health is several hundred dollars.

Bayoan Martinez-Cruz, MD
1400 S US Hwy 441
The Villages FL 32159
Building #920, Suite #922
352-750-6650
He has his own practice (not part of another practice); it's known as Martinez-Cruz Medical Associates of The Villages. His office is just south of the Sharon Morse Building and close to The Villages Regional Hospital (same parking lot and golf cart accessible).
Do a search on TOTV using his name and see the positive comments written about him. He was trained in internal medicine and serves his patients as a primary care physician. He was on the staff of Harvard Medical School for several years before moving to Florida. He's a terrific diagnostician and a great listener, and he is affiliated with most insurance companies. I've been his patient for seven years (even before he was in private practice), and I can assure you that if you were to make an appointment with him, you will not be disappointed!

I agree, he's a great doctor. We also had a wonderful internist (when we lived up north) at Mass Gen.Hospital in Boston for 20 yrs who was also a full professor @ Harvard Med. and since being here in this area for 9yrs; Dr.Cruz is the closest in similar professionalism we've been accustomed to. (we just started going to him and are glad we found him) Love him!

Excellent doctor, I was there yesterday.
I should add that Dr. Cruz told me two new specialists have arrived in TV, one from Brigham & Womens and the other from another noted hospital in the North East. He also told me there is a superb orthopedic (sp) specialist in the area from New England Baptist .................
So, if you build it, they will come -----------------

I did a search on Dr. Cruz on the state's licensing site. I am just curious as to why he carries no malpractice insurance. Usually when a doctor doesn't carry the insurance, it is because he is uninsurable due to a past problem. I understand that he has you sign an acknowledgment that he has no insurance. Has anyone of his patients on here asked him why?

Thanks for the info. I have not seen a bill yet. I would think he submitted the charges, to my health insurance, and got his money thru them.
$o to me so far.

Frankly I have no recollection signing such a document to be a patient of Dr. Cruz, on top of which I would not consider it an issue to do so. I am a patient of an ophthalmological practice here in TV that asks patients to sign a no-lawsuit, mediation-only agreement. I suspect things like this are only going to get more prevalent....

He makes no secret of the fact that he does not carry malpractice insurance. He has a big, really big, notice stating that fact in his reception area. Personally, I would prefer to know his qualifications, education and past hospital affiliations.

Yes, Dr. Agbo does this at no charge (my husband is a patient). He spends lots of time with patients and welcomes family members to come in so they can understand what's going on too.

You are correct 2BNTV. There is no charge for the Meet and Greet. My husband and I started going to Dr. Agbo as well. Same scenario.

I would recommend Dr Geegay, from Premier Medical.. The doctors are all professional and they take time with me. The nurses are wonderful and caring. The office staff is customer friendly and helpful.. They also, have there own pharmacy, no more waiting in lines.
