On my way home from work listening to 610 WTVN in Columbus, Ohio I heard a story that started……"At the Walmart in The Villages, Fl".
I'll do my best to paraphrase the story: A man from a local (to you, not me) financial services company was in there to buy a couple of bikes for a charity Christmas give away. While in the store he over heard a woman discussing she didn't think she could afford the presents she had there on lay-away. On the spur of the moment he got an idea. He went to the lay-away manager and asked how much was on lay-away. It was $89,000. He didn't have that much to spend but apparently picked up $21,000 worth. When the woman, described as a young woman in her 20's, went to talk to the lay-away staff she was told her presents had been paid for by the gentleman standing over there. She was unable to talk and sat down on a bench crying. He said she couldn't talk but every time she looked up she mouthed "thank you".
