I recently signed up with United Health Care for 2014, from Preferred Care Partners in 2013. I expected my Social Security payment to go down by $104.90 for Part B. According to my SSI statement received today, they are only withholding $44.90. Anyone care to comment? Thanks

Talked with Insurance agent yesterday and she confirms everyone has gotten the wrong deduction figure of $44.90. She further confirms that this is an error and that $104.90 is the correct deduction. So don't go spending the extra $60.00 just yet. She said that the January D/D will be $104.90 and that the confirmation letter probably won't reach medicare resipients until later in January since these confirmations are prepared months in advance before release.
Hope this helps.

Now I'm wondering why this would go into effect before the January 2014 ss checks go out since you are covered through PCP through Dec 2014???

My notice came with the correct amount but my other half had the incorrect amount stated.
That said, I thought we got paid retro-actively each month (is that the correct term)..for instance my check for this month was actually paid from Nov. So my amount in Jan. should be the same as this month!?! Then Feb. would be the new deduction amount? Tell me if I'm correct...or wrong!

You are correct , you are paid in arrears . That is so when the funeral home reports your demise SS does not have to go after your estate to collect a prorate amount of SS for the month of death.
With that being said if the increase is effective on January 1st you would see it in the February disbursement.
Merry Christmas

My post is incorrect as I just went back and checked my SS Increase Notice and it states the new amount will appear in the January 2014 check.
Cheers

We also received a notice from SS, we were with PCP's 2013. We have signed with PUP for 2014 and was told we would get $99.00 back every month. However our notice shows my husband will pay $44.90 and I will pay $104.90. It looks like they made many mistakes and not just with United Health care.

The latest news reports say nine million have signed up including the state exchanges and expanded medicaid. Some would say that's pretty good since it's only been available for three months. Try the website. It is much improved.

Where did you get your numbers? Here's a report that says cancelled plans outnumber enrollments. (http://bit.ly/1f0npf9)
You may not believe or want to believe, but at least you know where the numbers come from.
