I was minding my own business when a man asked me if I would like a ticket to tonight's show at Savannah center. It caught me by surprise; I didn't know what to make of it. I acceped the ticket, of course, and saw a really great show.
The show: The Christmas Ball Feat. David Ball And The Pioner Playboys
It was a fantastic show! I was facinated by the talent of the lead guitar player. I just wish I could play like that. I better start practicing. :icon_wink:
Thanks again to whomever that was. I guess it pays to be in the right place at the right time.

You're right...get this one...
Wife and I just move into our new home in the Villages and we go and load up the car with about $150 worth of groceries and the car breaks down on the way back to the house!
Second car to pull up behind us...I swear...second car!...pops the drunk takes my wife and the groceries to our home while I stay with the car and wait for AAA.
We still do not know who these people are!
Some place The Villages...we how drive around ready to assist someone in need at all times!

The people are what really make this place. We've met some wonderful folks in our years here. What also amazes me is how all the activities that we enjoy as far as the clubs, are all in place because of volunteers. The volunteers are a huge part of our active lifestyle. Kudos to them!

I heard there is a big cover up going on about a crack in the bubble and the Daily Sun is behind it.

We don't socialize much with our neighbors BUT that said, they're right there in the events where we've needed them. Even a hug and how can we help with something personal happened!! I think we live in the best place in the world!! Thanks VillagesPL for posting this!

Older women make better lovers. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
"old" has little to do with chronological age----for sure.

Along the same lines...my husband was about ready to go over the golf cart bridge in the golf cart, when the battery went dead. So, he pulled over to the side of the path and called for golf cart service. The next person to come along, insisted that they tow my husband's golf cart over the bridge and all the way home. So, indeed, there are some very kind and considerate people living in the Villages.

Yes, but old people can still have a lot of talent and spirit. Proof of that is the band that plays on Thursdays at Savahanna center: Sparkey's Strummers. I just listened to them this morning from 9 to 11 and they have lots of spirit and musical talent. They put a lot of effort into providing a free show to anyone who's interested.
Gracie, put on your teacher's hat and tell me if this is correct: In my opening post I said, "Thanks again to whoever that was." I have a feeling I got it wrong so I went back and changed it to, "whomever".
Do I have it right now?....:024:

No doubt about it, there are many many good Samaritans in TV. A good deed for you leads you to do a good deed for someone else. We have been on both ends of the good deed phenomenon in TV. Just one other thing that makes this a great place to live.

If I might step in with a little grammar lesson...
Whoever vs. Whomever
Rule 1
To determine whether to use whoever or whomever, here is the rule:
him + he = whoever
him + him = whomever
Examples:
Give it to whoever/whomever asks for it first.
Give it to him. He asks for it first.
Therefore, Give it to whoever asks for it first.
We will hire whoever/whomever you recommend.
We will hire him. You recommend him.
him + him = whomever
We will hire whoever/whomever is most qualified.
We will hire him. He is most qualified.
him + he = whoever
Confusing as **** to me.

Okay, so it's, "thanks again to him". I only have one "him". What do I do now?
No, wait. It's thanks again to him, whoever he was. So it's "him" plus "he". That means it must be "whoever". Whatever!

I agree with you! Whatever! It's very confusing and I've never been able to keep it straight. I had a book somewhere that explained it differently, and I didn't understand that either.:cryin2:

If I may be so bold as to butt in, I would prefer that your husband was about ready to go across the golf cart bridge in the golf cart, rather than over the bridge.
Also, I wonder was a meal part of the festivities at the Savannah center tonight?
Did they serve fish? :1rotfl:

The Villages IS the place to be!!! My outside pole light was staying on and apparently for awhile. Our neighbor greeted us and told us about how long it had been on. He sent me up to ACE on 466 to buy some kit, I came back with the kit and he installed it. I felt like a fool doing nothing but handing him a couple of tools. Saved us a few bucks. Point being is we'll all in the same boat and I look forward to returning the favor some day.
