Has anyone had the smell of your--or your neighbor's--irrigation system infiltrate their house?

We had this happen several months ago and it happened again tonight. We were out and returned home to the smell of rotten eggs in the master bathroom and bedroom. We aired out the house by opening the door to our lanai (away from the neighbor's sprinklers) and turning on the exhaust fans.

Not the best way to end an otherwise enjoyable day. :(

That may NOT be yours or your neighbors irrigation.
If sinks are not run, gases come up through the pipes and cause a rotten egg smell. It is most likely your sink. I have seen several post on TOTV's in regards to this topic. When I managed a clubhouse a few years back, we had a Gathering Room with an attached kitchen. It would happen there a lot and as soon as you walked in, the smell could knock you over.

Thanks, Phanatic Luvr! That's not the case as all our sinks' P-traps are always wet.

Last year we had occasional bouts with smells from the sinks. These are the master bathroom sinks, so it wasn't the traps drying out. It was--according to our plumber--algae growing in the sink overflow drains. We use a funnel to pour some vinegar into the overflows and the smell goes away. Stays away for a while, too!

Last night's incident seems to be something else.
