Kohl's will be located across 27/441 from Home Depot South Of Rolling Acres Rd. Not golf cart accessable. Is now under construction. Also in this same area will be Bed Bath & Beyond, Homewood Suites by Hilton, Longhorn Steakhouse and Arby's.

Some of the stores are at a stage that part of the block walls are up and in other areas they are still pushing dirt so it will be a while. I haven't heard a date. The Kohl's building may be still at the permit stage. I don't know what building that they have started the walls on. I would guess spring but call that an uneducated guess.

Someone on an earlier post also said a Sam's Club was going to be built in this area. Any news?

Sam's Club will be South of Home Depot on same side of street. They haven't broke ground yet but could be soon.

Just wondering why this area will not be golf cart accessable

This area is South of Rolling Acres Rd. Rolling Acres Rd has a speed limit of over 30 MPH which by Florida law you can't drive on or cross a road over 30MPH in a non street legal golf cart. Rolling Acres Rd has a lot of traffic and I would not want to walk across this street.

This property is not owned and leased by The Villages so they will not build a tunnel or a bridge to get from their property to the property they don't own and don't have an income from. I know that they tried to get these retail stores to rent from them on Villages property and they decided to go for the cheaper property that was not golf cart accessable.

About six months or so ago one of the Morse family members spoke to The Villages Home Owners Association and stated that Kohl's for one didn't think that golf cart access was important. He went on to say that these company's just don't get it when it comes to how much golf carts are used in The Villages and said that he has tried to get the decision makers hear to see why they are wrong and they were to busy to come.

I for one feel that they made a mistake and are on the wrong side of the road.

Would it be possible to cross the cart bridge at Spanish Springs and go south thru the business areas on the East side of 441 to get to the Home Depot/Kohl's center?

Kohl's will be across 27/441 from Home Depot. Golf carts can't go to Home Depot because you can't cross Griffin Ave. which is the Southern border for the historical side of The Villages.

Sam's Club will be South of Home Depot and North of the Lady Lake Town Hall. Kohl's will be on the same side of 27/441 as Target only across Rolling Acres Rd. which can't be crossed in a golf cart.

Weird Law - if pedestrians and bicycles can cross the road at the crosswalks why not golf carts?

I read in the Star Banner that Kohls had pulled their request for permits from the City of Lady Lake because they wanted to be in a golf cart accessible area. So don't know if it's still coming or not.
