New one day sales record at publix at colony, $234,000 on monday. I worked and firgured it would break the wed. before thanksgiving record of $215,000. I am off today but i shopped at 8 30 this am and had 9 checkouts busy.
Is there any possibility of expanding the store into adjoining spaces? Oh how it is needed. I loved the luxury of wide aisles in one of the other Publix stores I shopped in this week.

I was amazed this weekend, I shopped Colony at 7:30am on Saturday and thought these people must be having record sales,,, they were out of everything!!! The meat cases were 1/2 full, the shelves were empty of popular items, it was amazing to me. Maybe I was just too early? I'm not usually up that early so maybe this is the norm??? But whatever, I was happy with my shopping and happy with the service.

we've shopped there before when they were out of some of their produce (it was later...early evening). We were told the truck would be there over-night so come back!
Crazy how busy that store is! Walgreens at Colony too! Wonder when Pinellas Plaza will begin showing they're helping taking up the slack??!!!

It seems like Publix could use some of their profits and hire overnight stockers, if this is the case. Not talking about produce and meats, but the popular items that were missing. This would keep the aisles open during store hours. Maybe they do and just can't keep up with demand.

I live right behind Publix in colony and they do have trucks coming during the night after hours and I'm pretty sure they have people stocking shelves very early in the morning, but I think they just can't keep up with the demand. I do wish that Sweetbay in Pinellas could start picking up the slack. Its a nice store and I do go there very often because it isn't busy.

I love the Publix at Colony, everyone there is so nice and helpful. Unfortunately, SweetBay at Pinnella's is a lot more expensive for "weekly" shopping and I really wonder if they will do well at that location. Personally, another Publix would have been the better choice, but some also say variety is the spice of life. I do like the bakery section in SweetBay, but I do my other shopping at Publix and WalMart for weekly stuff.

Sweet Bay will soon become Winn Dixie which I'll regret. There sale prices are only for their customers that have their card. Publix will give everyone who shops there the sale price.
