Heard there are easy directions to Disney…and easier parking??? Alone this Christmas and thought a trip to Disney would help…..but help with driving directions are needed first. Thanks and Merry Christmas!

Fla Turnpike south to Orlando:
south on Toll road 429 to Disney's west gate and follow the signs to parking

NOTE!!! traditionally the single busiest day of the year at The Tragic Kingdom (sorry I grew up in Orlando) is December 26th.

It really isn't a joke! You won't be able to "stir em with a stick"! Been there, done that!

It was just on the news about an hour ago that the Magic Kingdom stopped taking visitors today at 10:00am due to the park being full.

I don't take the toll road. I take 441 to 27 to 192. very easy.

Oh, Boy! Sounds like we're in for a fun day. Just wanted to do something memorable rather than just sit at home and mope…sounds like we'll be remembering this one. Gonna try it anyway….thanks for the info and Merry Christmas!

chalpm - I'd skip the parks based on traditional crowds - but I wouldn't hesitate to visit the resorts and marvel over the decor of each, ride the monorails, take the 'settlement' bus through fort wilderness just to see the decorated campsites [the best fun that's free], play some mini golf, and go to the Turf Club Bar & Grill @ Saratoga Springs for a prime rib dinner []AllEars®.Net (http://allears.net/menu/menu_turfdin.htm)!

Last time we visited Disney we spent a good chunk of the day at the Flying Fish restaurant. It was just wonderful and much better than walking in the sun and joining the crowds waiting for the rides.

Remember, the crowds die off dramatically after New Years. The next week (thru Saturday) is mostly 8 or 9 out of 10 (For 1, think stroll onto rides with no wait. For 10, think wall to wall bodies). Starting on the Sunday after NY, crowds drop off to mostly 3 or 4 out of 10. Late Jan and much of Feb, you'll find a lot of 1 and 2 out of 10 days.

Remember, if you have a FL ID, you can get FL annual passes. Several choices both with blackout dates and without. Most expensive ones include free parking.

If you want to know more about crowd projections, take a look at touringplans(dot)com. They show next 10 days for free and a year in advance for a rather modest annual subscriptions. In the 10 plus years I have used them, I have only seen wrong once (and that was for reasons no one could have foreseen).

Both before we moved here and since, we have used TouringPlans to pick parks to visit.

And I have no connection with Touring Plans except to be a very satisfied customer and a former beta tester for a phone app they developed. I've met several of their employees and think that they are super people.

OP: I hope that you were able to enjoy your visit. PM if you need more info.
