I checked the web site for the Sheriff's Dept. and I can't locate where it lists crimes that have occurred in Sumter County - does anyone know where these crimes are listed, arrests made, etc. - thank you

The police blog used to be in The Daily Sun routinely.

Has anyone read the paper yet? Has this latest break in been reported? How about Meta Minton's online news? I will email her and ask.

I found a place where you can get everything that was on the court docket for any given day or week. Each week is generally 2-5 pages long. It will give you the particular crime/business transaction and name of those involved. You can not tell where it happened or where the guilty lived. I have yet to find any arrest records. Not sure why this is as someone else had commented, up north, our paper printed ALL arrests by city police, county sheriff and even the highway patrol. We had a circulation of about 25,000.

I believe that is a selected blog. At least it does not agree with the one in the paper you can pick up at the Belvedere library.

It doesn't match court records either. If it did, it would be six pages of the paper!

I think I read somewhere The Villages population makes up over 50% of the Sumter County registered voters.

So, that means that no police log is published?

Go to The Villages on-line news and click on crime. You will find many traffic citations and some other arrests, along with photos of the alleged perpetrators. Nothing on the house break-ins as of yet.
