I've started this separate thread as it is motivated by a number of other threads current active about this subject.

When a person complains about complainers, when do they become one of those that they themselves are actually complaining about?

Interesting question, but one I certainly have no answer for. One thing I can say though is that complainers are unfortunately a part of every community, be it online or otherwise. And the reality of it is that you must either learn to deal with it (as in learn to tolerate) or you need to simply walk away from it if peace is to be kept and enjoyment for all preserved.

IMHO, my complaining about complainers does little good for myself... or for anyone else for that matter, even though there have been times where I thought that it would.

So, what's your opinion?

It made my head hurt.. does this mean I am supposed to complain about complainers or I am supposed to complain?? I think I will complain in my head only and talk to myself.. Much safer.

I have made a New year's resolution to lighten up!

What I do is ignore certain negative posts such as those which may be fueled by alcohol or other substance and/or a tad of dementia. Life is too short and enjoyable to carry such stuff around with me.

Have you read Will Bowens book, A Complaint Free World or Happy This Year? It's a great way to stop sensless complaining and learn to make a positive difference in the things that bother you. There is a difference between complaining and stating that a situation may need change. He also has a website and you can "like" his Complaint Free World on Facebook.

I don't see complaints about much at all. I think the desire is for everyone to have the opportunity to post an opinion without the fear of being berated by a sharp tongue. Most of us have no problem with those that disagree, but wish for a sensible different opinion rather than an attack.

Two separate but mostly identical threads were merged and thread closed, for now.

As an aside, perhaps it's time to get back to open, civil discussions about topics that interest Villagers and let this theme of TOTV/member bashing rest for awhile. New Year, new civility.
