My husband is looking for a good repair shop for his Harley. Do any of you have any recommendations you can share?? Thanks.

He can always take it to the Harley dealer in Ocala or Leesburg.

I can get the numbers / address if you like from our HOG book.

We've used Gator Harley in Leesburg, with no problems : )

Gator HD in Leesburg does a great job. The service manager has been there for years.
I have never (last 10-12 years) had a problem when getting my bike serviced or repaired.

I just moved here a few months ago from DeLand. I bought two new bikes from Gator and had spent over 100K at their store and had a good relationship with them. I even went out drinking with Junior. I do all mechanical repairs and service myself. I finally needed help with a electrical problem that was over my head. I dropped it off and picked it up the next day for a bill of $448. I rode it home (52 miles) and it was fine. The next day I went for a ride and it died like before. I took it back and it was repaired at another bill of $452. When I talked to the service manager he gave me a BS story along with a tap dance. I then talked to John Junior and he said "It is what it is". They would not budge on the price. After talking to other riders from DeLand I found this to be the norm. Since then I have bought several new bikes and I currently ride a 2013 Screamin Eagle Ultra Classic that I bought in Crystal River. They are honest people with integrity that I would recommend.

Thank you for the good and not so good. I am sorry to hear they would not give you some adjustment on your bill. That was a lot to swallow.

I just didn't know if there was any independent repair folks out there other than the dealership. We had a great guy back home in Virginia that kept ours going when needed!!

Just making sure I understand this,, You took your bike to them and paid 458 for a repair that did not work, and had to pay again.. Not sure I am ok with that.... If I pay for a repair and it still does the same thing,, Lucy might have some splaining to do... But this is just me....

I guess we are on the same page. The monkeys over at Gator misdiagnosed my problem and tried and succeeded to charge me twice. This is why I do my own repair work. I have owned 14 Harleys and have worked on dozens. I was busting tires by hand until a couple years ago. I am no amateur to be BS'd by a dealer. As far as mechanical ability and experience on Harleys, I am probably the best mechanic in TV. ------Until electrical that is like magic flowing through wires. BEWARE of taking your scooter to fly bys, including Gator!

Would not go back to Gator bought a bike from them a few years ago and I had to have some work done. The bill was approx 520.01 and I put it on my credit card, they called me the next day and said that when they ran the card thru they left off the 1 cent and would have to charge my card the penny. I thought they were kidding but the charge was put thru for 1 CENT.I called them and they said sorry but I owed them the penny I told them you will never see me again after spending over $20,000.00 for the bike !!!

Thanks again for the info. And the penny is just over the top, that is just plain nuts. I would much rather give my business to a mom and pop establishment anyway. They are all about developing a relationship with their customers.
