Size & features, making designers more expensive. You can look at all of the floor plans on The Villages website.

Cottages are only sided. However some cottage square feet can be as large if not larger than some designer. In pre owned you may find more upgrades in designer. It has been stated that the villages will not build any more cottages

If you go into the official Villages website where they have the homes listed (this will be on the left side of the link) you will see the various styles and types. Premier is the high end ones, designer will be (but not always) will be the medium priced ones. There are designer cottage, designer villas so that's why I said "not always". Cottages will have vinyl siding, the foot-prints are smaller than the others. They're basically a ranch-style house! Most don't have upgrades of closets, bathrooms and kitchens.

Cottage homes do have 3 bedrooms. It is best to talk to a representative from The Villages. They can explain the difference as there is a lot of conflicting information being given.

Cottages can be a 2 bedroom but most are 3 bedroom....if you have questions you can get a hold of an agent. The Villages agents will NOT pressure you in any way nor will then keep on you with phone calls etc.

Sorry to disagree with you, but to say that "Villages agents will not pressure you in any way," is not true.

Like with any type of sales, it depends on the salesperson.

I have a 3 bedroom cottage that I love. They do not make my model anymore. I have a really large eat in kitchen and a side lanai. Very private. Difference in Designers are size, special effects, fancier cabinets, bathrooms in bedrooms can be exquisite. Ceilings in bedrooms are tray ceilings. Archways between rooms. Front doors are fancier and sometimes have alcoves. Some have enough property to add pool. Just my opinion!
