Default Ask a Golf Cart Expert a question!

If you have a question regarding your golf cart you can ask an expert for assistance. Only the expert should respond all other responses will be removed.

If you have a golf cart question for the general community you can post that in the golf cart forum vs. the expert forum. Here Scott the owner of Titan Golf Cart will be responding to these questions.

Scott Jezowski grew up in MI on a golf course and spent most of his life working on carts in his parents golf cart shop. Scott has now been in the Villages for 5 years and is the owner of Titan Golf Cart South. He handles warranty work for club car Yamaha and ezgo and provides Mobile

Seat belts for golf carts are an obvious YES. What about seat belts with a shoulder harness...YES or NO?

Rebel pirate.

Seat belts are a tough subject. There is no Dot approved seat belts for golf carts there for I will not install them. I have not seen any over the shoulder seat belts on a cart that look properly installed. There for I would say NO to your question.

Does the extra weight of 10 inch radial tires put stress on steering linkage, wheel bearings, or other standard golf cart components, causing premature wear?

What is improper about the Par Car (P5) shoulder seat belt design/installation or have you not seen them.

Are there any DOT approved belts for NEVs?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

my new (to me) 2007 gas Yamaha golf cart is doing the same thing, the motor is super loud and it is no frills, so i need to get accessories like auto off signal control, zipper soft enclosure, doggie safety seat, floor mat, grocery net, garage door remote, and stuff I probably don't even know exists I'm in Fenney so I can't take it anywhere yet. Suggestions?

Yamaha 2013 backfire.
Make sure that the cables are probably adjusted if not it can cause a backfire.
Does the cart have a high speed gear?
Have they put a new muffler on everytime?
Did they change the muffler gasket with the muffler?

The P5 cart was made with seatbelts on it. So the company can take the proper measures to make sure they keep you safe. EZ-GO,Yamaha and Club car doesn’t have any factory seatbelts or a safe way to install them. This is my opinion.

I have an Ex Ray Golf Cart Multifunctional Digital Speedometer and want it installed on my new (to me) cart. Do you do this, and if so, what would you charge? Do I need to bring it in?

Default Yamaha gas cart sporadic stalling problem

Hi Scott,

I have a 2012 Yamaha gas golf cart with a sporadic and frustrating stalling problem. What happens is, when driving in stop and go traffic or stopped at an intersection, the cart will occasionally stall out. Although I am able to eventually get it restarted within a minute or so, I am concerned about the possibility of getting stranded at some point.

My dealer's technicians have in the past twice replaced something called an actuator and just recently my battery. Unfortunately, the problem continues, but the technician has yet to recreate the problem at their location and states a thorough check of the vehicle does not show a problem.

Can you help?

This is our first time living in Florida and buying a cart. The colors we are interested in for a Yahama cart only have matching vinyl seats. The new "Simtek" (sorry don't know spelling) seem that they would truly be cooler in the Florida heat but have limited color choices and none that coordinate well with the cart color we were going to get. Wondering if the cooler fabric is such a difference that we should rethink our cart color choice.

Scott

My battery charger (it says 1999) seems not generating to my club car batteries. Not sure whether it is the charger or the electric circuit issue in my 12 years old cart. How do I check if the charger does generate or not? My friends have Yamaha carts so I cannot use my charger on any of them.

I have a 2007 electric Club Car whose lights, horn, and brake light do not work. I am thinking it needs a fuse, am I right? Where can I go to have this fixed, without taking the cart too far. And, can I buy a fuse at Ace Hardware and install it myself? Thank you for any help...R. Buhrig

I have an electric Golf cart that came when we purchased the house. My mother is unable to plug it in and fill up the batteries. I would like to sell it and get a used gas cart. How do I know what a fair price for my cart would be? How do I find out the year ect? It is in good condition and it has been refurbished. I am going to have it tuned up and then I would like to sell it. I want to charge what is fair. I hope you can help me.
