Default Brake Lights

I have a 2005 CC DS 48v IQ....Trying to troubleshoot no brake lights or turn signals...Headlights and tail lights work..It has the turn signal switch on the steering column that comes with the hose clamp to attach it ...I found a wiring diagram online and it looks like the brake lights go through the turn signals...Can someone explain how this works...Maybe a bad turn signal switch?...Thanks for any help..

The turn signal switch (called a Stalk) isolates the R&L signals front and rear. There is a small board in the stalk that takes the power that comes from a brake switch near the brake pedal and sends the power to the R & Left rear high side of the bulbs for brake lights.
The head and tail lights are compleatly separated from this brake and signal circuit.
Most likely a bad stalk.
