Default Do I need a new motor for my EZ-GO?

My 36v EZ-GO motor seems to be running hot and smelling of oil, and there is sometimes a strange noise from below the seat when travelling at speed

I had part of the transmission replaced recently as it was leaking oil into the motor.

Could this be the problem, and it is just burning the oil off, or does it sound like a new motor is needed?

Current one is ten years old

If so, what would it cost, and who should I use to put one in?

Thank you

Default 36 volt Motor

If you had differential work done you should have had the electric motor opened, cleaned, and possible brushes replaced. Most likely the odor you smell is
the oil from the previously leaking diff. now in the motor.
