Default Missing tail pipe

My tail pipe on my gas Yamaha fell off last week. What is the risk of leaving off? I do smell a little bit of fumes but other than that it is fine. I understand I may have to replace both muffler and tail pipe as one unit which is quite expensive. What do you recommend?
Thanks,
bhoward

We do not recommend operating the cart to long before getting it repaired, the exhaust fumes not able to escape properly could make very sick.
