Default motor or gears?

I have a 2004 ezgo with 6 6volts... it has a lot less torque than I want to climb hills or long upgrades but "freewheels" up to 30 mph on downhill ..would give that up for a More consistent speed. Should I be looking at a different motor or gears?

I afraid your 36 volt EZGo has limitations for speed, unless your ready to spend more money than the cart is worth to upgrade to a 48 volt system.
