Default Problem with Electric Club Car

The problem is with a 2005 gas Club Car. The high speed motor is three years old.
Sporadically, from a stop, the accelerator does not respond. To correct the situation I toggle the forward/reverse switch back and forth and then it goes. The problem is intermittent. Any idea as to what is causing this problem?

My first choice would be the M-core, it could also be the motor brushes. It is most likely an IQ unit and we would put a programer on the controller and read the fault codes for a more accurate diagnosis.
