I was a big Yankee fan but the DUKE was a great ballplayer and first class guy. I could never understand why it took him eleven years to make The Hall of Fame. When I saw The Duke, he was past his prime while Mickey and Willie were at theirs. The Duke might have been the lesser of the three golden boys in center field but he can play on my team anytime. RIP Duke.

So sorry to hear about the Duke's passing. The first ballgame my dad took me to was The Dodgers at Ebbets field. With the duke, mickey, and the say hey kid, baseball card flipping was exciting.
