Gotta hand it to the Royals! They never quit. Congrats to the Champs!
Now, how many days until pitchers and catchers report?

Great game!! Mom turned the game off when it was 2-0 and I made her turn it back on! So glad I did!

On a side note, it brings back a lot of memories of 30 years ago! (Can't believe it has been that long!) My former boss had a reception for the Royals in DC after their last World Series win. The entire team was there and it was a great day. The floral centerpieces on every table had little bats in them (about 18" long). George Brett signed a bat and gave it to me. Years later, I gave that bat to a litle boy. I wonder where it is now?!?!

It was a sad way for the Mets to lose, considering they wanted to take Harvey out after the 8th but he talked them out of it. Now they have all winter to think about that.

However, KC proved their mettle, and congratulations to the Royals! They played great baseball, and it was a fun series to watch.

Mental mistakes by met players, especially center fielder, plagued them all series. Game five was Mets manager disaster. Holding a 2-0 lead in a pitchers dual, constantly getting lead off hitter on and NEVER attempting a sacrifice???? How many complete games did Mets starting pitcher have in his career? Horrible manager! The only saving grace of the series was Pete Rose.

So happy for a team with a lot of heart and determination. I really thought the series was headed back to KC - but the Royals came through with another late inning/extra inning rally. Exciting series. KC ROYALS - WORLD SERIES CHAMPS!!!

Congrats to the KC Royals.

Patience at the plate, the better bullpen and not making errors were the difference in this series.

Outplayed the Mets. Nuff said.....

and 800,000+ people there yesterday for the celebration? Whaaaaaaaaaat? My son is with KCPD SWAT and he was one of many assigned to the players yesterday; he said everything and everyone was awesome; no problems - other than massive gridlock!
