What a great human bean. Typed that way to honor Mr. Yogi....he always struck me as a great family man. I believe he has been reunited with his wife Carmen. A true loss for us but Yogi got his reward.

RIP Yogi

My first ball game as a child at Yankee Stadium
Players were Yogi, Micky, Roger and Whitey

That was in the day when baseball was all about the game not the money

Several years ago we saw Yogi playing at Arnold Palmer's Invitational in the Pro-Am. RIP.

And he was a great baseball player winning the league MVP award in 1951, 1954, and 1955. Not too many 3 time MVPs in history.

Yogi was always my favorite ballplayer. Much smarter than people gave him credit for. A WWWII veteran and a great family man. Loved by anyone who came into contact with him and was renowned for his humilility. Never talked about his accomplishments but made everyone around him comfortable.

My nephew teased me about missing Yogi Berra day at the stadium, as David Cone pitched a perfect game. My son asked me to go but my nephew was christening his twins and asked me to deliver the cake from NY to NJ. My nephew told his girls, I would never forgive them. LOL

My two favorite Yogi sayings are:

1. "You observe a lot by watching".

2. "You have to go to other people's funerals as they won't come to yours".

Obviously he was referring to the others mourners at the funerals.

RIP - Yogi. Now you are together with Carmen, (his wife of 65 years).
