I've never been able to understand why there are so many people outside of New York who admire the Yankees.
Don't they see it's rather unsportsmanlike to simply fix their one season playoff absence by spending another 400 million dollars on three players? |

Which team has players on food stamps? Which team has tickets for $5 so fans can afford to go to games? Your're right, none. They don't spend as much for the same reason your boss didn't pay you $10,000,000 per year. They're satisfied with the product they put on the field and see no reason to pay more. Others, such as the Yankees are willing to pay more to try to produce the best. This is their first championship since 2000. Obviously spending more doesn't guarantee a World Series title but they keep trying to improve their product.
If you're happy with a Yugo that's fine. That's your right. Others want something a bit better. GO YANKEES!
