Would love to take a Villages wide survey to see how many golfers feel that the fairways are mowed way too low. TV Sirector of Holf told me they are mowed at a height of 5/8". I told him that in 10 years of playing here, I had never seen a single fairway on a single course that had so much as a 1/4" of grass and, most of the time, even less. The other issue is the sand in the traps. Nearly impossible to get a clean lie in a fairway bunker and due to excessive sand around the face of the bunkers, many shots completely bury, making it impossible to get out in one shot. These courses could be a masterpiece with the right grooming but apparently not a high priority for the family or else they just don't care. How many of you agree with this assessment?

Percentage Lesson:
(36-34)/34 is the correct way to calculate this....not 12.2%. 5.9% is the correct increase. Now, if you’re comparing it to another season’s price...that would be different.

I was pretty disappointed having just bought here to see a huge increase in the rate. These are not $64 courses.

It’s not just the $$ for me, I Despise getting Hosed or being taken for a ride.

this is a venue where we can all speak up about it. Why can a course just west of here charge $25 with cart and do so at a profit and we pay 1.5 times more for sub- standard conditions. Our courses, what I heard, were not over seeded And they didn’t appear cared for. So, It seems to me they raised the price and kept it for themselves.

Are you sure it’s whining, I think the term is raising your voice.

There are many good golf courses outside the Villages. I think those that complain have a right to say how they feel, and those who put down the complainers have their right as well. I think both are getting their "fix".
God it's hell getting old!!!

Agreed. I think the only reason most people are willing to pay $64 for these courses is that they are close by and you drive your own personal cart to them. For $64, you get a visually boring, wide open design with little rough to impede the quick moving along of the crowds. Take your pick - it's the same thing over and over again. There are some great , interesting designs outside The Villages - too bad they aren't closer.

It’s not the $2. It’s the complete disdain they display for proper course conditioning and the arrogance to raise the rates for an inferior product.

Not going to happen. This place is going to the dogs fast. People are going to take a fast look here and fine out it isn't what it use to be. Priced way out of sight. This economy is about to bite the developer family in the butt with greed. My daughters age group who should be the next to start buying are not even interested in this life style. These young folks are making far more money than most of us ever did and that generation which is much smaller than our (baby boomers) group will not even give this place a second look. Extremely cramped, to busy and looks like a place that the communist would like. Only certain style homes, only certain colors, only certain amount of land, etc. etc. etc....... Cookie cutter villas. One comment is, "when you have one to many to drink how the heck do you know which villa is your?"

Many of the people are younger south of 44 and have no interest in golf , in the early surveys of what people wanted , many said that golf wasn’t there biggest priority. Not everyone comes here for golf, I myself have lived on 3 courses including the Bay Hill CC and have never picked up a club.

I just tried to find a tee time on a Championship course for 2 golfers, 3 days out (tee times released today). Pretty much all the tee times are gone before 5:00 pm.

I agree with dewilson... There appears to be plenty of golfers that want to golf The Villages Championship courses. It's convenient and there's a lot of variety.
So... the complainers should probably either play off-site or take up Pickleball. I don't see any reason for TV to do anything substantially different at this time.
