Yeah but I thought prices were supposed to go "down" during the "off season", not up.

I'm not good at math, that's obvious since I couldn't figure the price change was 5.9%, but I can compute that $36 is less than $64.

Keep the golf carts OFF the grass (except for handicap) and stay on the golf cart path!! Other than that we’ll have to wait for rain. I’m just saying....

The solution to the op's problem is falling from the sky as we speak. Now, if we get enough rain, there will be cart restrictions, and real soon now, we will be starting into the aeration schedule. The whining will never stop.

Also, only having 18/27 holes open should help

Correction...that’s a 5.8% increase. $2/$34 ....

Default Conditions vs. price

The problem with the championship courses is the overpricing for the provided product given. The conditions are no where near what they where 5 years ago. Within the last 10 years the fees have doubled and the quality of the playing conditions have greatly decreased. The greens are average, however the fairways have no grass, it would be nice to see over seeding resume as was done prior to the last 3 winters. With the current conditions I would rather drive 30 minutes or more, to play other courses that over seed and are in much better shape all winter and cost $20 to $35 dollars less. Time is not important when you are retired and there are many courses outside the property that take only 5/10 minutes more to get to. The only way CC's will improve is if residents call golf management and state their concerns and/or totally boycott play. Money does talk. If the fairways were over seed again, the water and fertilizer given during the winter months would greatly improve the spring conditions and preserve the regular fairway grass for the summer months.

Not related but I laugh every Thursday when the hole in ones are published in the paper. There are NO holes in one while the cylinders are still in the hole! Nice shot, but not a hole in one!

Probably not more than seasonal transitional changes. We play around 3,000,000 rounds of golf on our courses each year. Probably more than 2M on our executive courses. With over 200,000 rounds being played on each course it's about as good as it's going to get. The addition of more golfers without additional championship courses will further reduce the quality of the course. The championship courses we played before we moved here got somewhere around 30,000 rounds per year and the course was closed at least 1 day each week for rest and maintenance. I think they can and should make some improvements but you'll never play a round of golf in The Villages that compares to say Mission Inn. That's just what I think.

As long as the person records a "1" on the scorecard and records his score, it's official. Why would someone possibly care? Obviously some of us don't get out too often.

I suggest all golf courses to be closed Until further notice to perform deferred maintenance.
