I run a group of a dozen or so men who play championship courses on Monday mornings. Every week the game changes and the cost is $5 per man. If you are interested in trying us out, please contact me at gooeyg1952@gmail.com. All members must be priority. My name is Dan.

Yes there are.....Fridays afternoon wave of championship, all games utilize course handicaps via GHIN/USGA. Players with indexes of 3 - 24, average 13.0. Usually 16 in summer and 20-24 in winter < $10. Must be priority. contact: birdieputt1946@gmail.com

I dont think the executive courses are rated, so GHIN handicap won’t apply on executives.

Oh, is that why my wife and I shot 61 in a mixed event years ago and lost by 15 strokes? Haven't played in a Villages tournament since.

pretty much

But now with the new World Handicap System it is better----No longer see 8 players in a flight of 12 all shooting 56-58 net

This is absolutely true.

However, the other side is you can par every course from the white tees and still carry a 6 to 8 handicap. The ratings here are way out of wack.

Actually, under the World Handicap system that would be just about right. To have a 0.0 index, you need to be shooting approx. "par" from the tees that correspond to a theoretical course rating of 72, which is about the blacks. If you are shooting par from the whites, you are shooting 78-80 from the blacks and would have an index of 6-8. Makes sense since most of the white tee course ratings are 66-67 in TV.

Agree look at the slope rating for the white tees. Most, if not all are under 110. Most, non TV, white tees are in and around 120-125.

Understand that the ‘color’ of the tee does not mean a thing, only a means of separation. It’s the yardage that mostly creates the rating, with hazards & sand traps that separate the like distances. TV white tees are mostly 5500-5700 yards with ratings 65-66. The slope helps in the course handicap calculation. You will find most courses around here with the appropriate same yardage, have the same ratings. If you even par, you will earn an index of about 6.0 to 7.0. Unlike before WHS, your index gives you your ‘potential’, not your ‘expected’ score. Yes there are sand *******, but handicap committees are more prevalent and imposing. If you know a play who is not recording all his scores, or recording different scores from what was shot, you need to report that person (for the sake of other golfers) to one of the pros. They will then investigate and watch the recordings.

I understand what you are saying, and guess that you are a low handicap golfer, if not a scratch. Do you think that you would score 64 to 66 regularly from the white tees, if you normally play the black?
That's six to eight birdies a round with no bogies, but also very good opportunities for an eagle or three.
