Seriously, you expect people to take responsibility for themselves?? I think there should be free food available at various locations on the course. Some poor unfortunate soul may have gotten around too late to eat breakfast or lunch and will be hungry before finishing their round. My God, they might collapse due to a blood sugar level drop!

Why? If they have water buckets on the course, they should have water in them. When you go to a bar, do you bring your own beer in case they don't have any? If they are not going to put water in the buckets, they should remove the buckets. Same with the ball washers.

I just checked, and I've played golf 80 times in the last 12 months. Other's have probably played much more. I do remember one week where the ice machine was broken at Tierra Del Sol and the water wasn't as ice cold as it usually was-but other than those 2 times, I've always enjoyed the refreshing, cold water that is almost always there.
78 times out of 80. I can live with that.

This is much more important now that we are about to enter into summer and must stay hydrated.

"I play two to three times a week in a group of 16 to 24."

And you have not learned to bring your own water???

Thank god I am not old enough to golf yet! I am only 63 y/o so i don't have all the issues you old whiners have!!

I always bring a large container cup of water from home, hardly ever use the provided water.

I haven’t used a “bubbler” for years, ever since I saw someone put their whole mouth over one to get a drink. I agree with others—bring your own water/other drinks. Heck, fill up your cooler!

Also, fish do some nasty things in it!

To be honest, cold water on the courses is an amenity that we absolutely did not expect when moving here, nor am I one to point fingers if that water is, at rare times, either not icy-cold or plentiful.

Anyone who depends upon others to meet their hydration needs in the middle (or on the cusp) of a Florida summer is, to put it politely, a fool. Every golf cart I've ever seen has ample places to store cold water (or other fluids--my sister-in-law can stash a cold 12-pack on a cart in about two minutes), or failing that, an insulated jug of ice water in one's golf bag for those of us who prefer to walk the course rather than ride.

It is called taking personal responsibility, folks.
