Re: Chatters Talk: Happy or Sad

Nonie,
I am already in the Villages. I stay by myself down there most of the time. But you are right...I am almost always happy. Everyplace has its own beauty. Plus, I lived and worked here as a teacher in upstate NY for 35 years so I have many friends here. I have another group of friends where I grew up...on a farm.
But I will say it again, I have met some super nice people in the Villages and on TOTV. This is the first year I have had a computer.
Life is good.
Good luck on your cleaning and thanks for being one of those super nice people! :)

I just watched both web cams to see what is happening in TV. :'( :'( :'(

OK, trying to remain positive here. We just lit a fire in the fireplace.
Going to watch American Idol with Fireboy. This weekend is "opening the cottage" time in Ontario. Gotta get the hot tub going. Everyone at the cottage will be in party mode. The wildflowers are blooming. The loons are having babies, and they are unbelievably cute. Now I feel better. ;D

Bare, I don't think loons should have babies. Only sensible people should have babies.

Here's one pulled out of the old memory bank:

Whenever I hear the word loon I remember a contest back in the 50's where the winner won a date with Henry Morgan on "I've Got A Secret". The contestants had to send in why they should be the chosen one. The winner was a woman who sent in the following:

She should win the date because Henry is a goon and she's a loon (alone).

Wow, talk about useless trivia stored in the old brain..................

VK,

Henry Morgan :yikes: Talk about a good memory, youve got one! It may be useless trivia but Im impressed that you remembered that story& Henry! Be grateful you still have a memory, I lost mine many years ago.

Nonie, I identify with that. I'm not sure if it's because I have "so much on my plate" right now, or if it's just "my age". Tonight I decided to check on hotel reservations in Santee, SC for my return trip to TV. It took me about 3 minutes to access the town "Santee" from my brain's hard drive! Sumter kept coming to mind. Duh!

They say it's the short term memory that is the first to go. The old stuff is easier to pull up. Yikes! :o We better all get back inside the bubble (TV) so we'll be safe when it sets in. ;D

on the way, VK2

I am impressed with your memory VK - whether it is old or new info. I even remember who you are. ;)

I always try to remember a good joke so that I can repeat it. I remembered only one or two over the years. One song from an ancient television show that I always thought was cute I tried remembering, but sorry to report I can only remember part of it.

Happy to report my husband remembers all of it - sometimes he will sing it to me. We are very romantic - song is from Car 54 Where Are You?

Awwww Chels, That is so nice that Vetman sings to you. I'm glad you have such a happy marriage. A word of advice, however....don't let him start watching Paula Deen or you'll be in the same place Boomer and I are.

Uh oh, Sam, come back to the Bubble. You are losing it, dearie. It was Hyacinth that said Sidney sings to her, not Chels and Vetman. ;D

And, HB, I remember you too - very, very well, wild lady. ;)

Re: Chatters Talk: Happy or Sad

A friend was asking me yesterday where I had spent the winter. I was telling her about TV, and she said: "You know, you light up when you talk about that place".

I want back in the bubble.

Ah yes, our Never Never land. September cant come too soon!

It so nice to feel safe, happy and 14 again! Why is it that we feel so young and carefree when were in TV?

Re: Chatters Talk: Happy or Sad

Oops...short attention span on that one. I stand corrected. It's funny, but I can just see Vetman singing to Chels. It is wonderful to know that Sidney sings to HB. I just love romantic things like that. Sing on all! :)

Another song that I like the way he and a friend sing together is the Vatican Rag.

At times they are pop songs also.
