Congratulations were tongue in cheek, I thought the satirical tone was obvious...you can't smirk well on here, can you?

There have been many many threads asking for advise of this community in selection of a place of worship

There are dozens more. Only this inquiry and one where someone asked for help finding a liberal church resulted in attacks on the OP. When someone asks for help finding a fundamentalist church or a conservative "bible based" church there don't seem to be attacks on those peoples' beliefs or the churches which may support those beliefs. I notice that a couple of even more offensive comments which were posted earlier have been deleted from this thread. Perhaps it is the thought of sharing a faith experience with members who are so intolerant that they need to attack your religion on a website, which made the OP ask for a church in the manner he/she did.

I agree, give the man/women a chance. I try to see the positive before making assumptions. I think we can all agree some churches are too over zealous for some. Being a Methodist married to a Baptist, I heard more than once from the Baptist side that Methodists are the faith lite of the various denominations.

Correct. I would recommend we all give assistance to anyone searching for a place of worship that fits them and let The Lord sort out why they are searching or why they ask they way the OP did for this thread. Snap judgement is uncalled for and especially when one is looking for God.

I really tried to be gentle and kind and now I am mad. It is possible that there is more support for traditional views and traditional churches because the majority of us who live here are traditional people with widely varying views but mostly ordinary, traditional folks. That is nothing to be ashamed of. We are living according to the values and beliefs we hold.

The OP is intolerant of people with money too. How does he raise his children? Go and try not to earn a lot of money?

AND You are right Kitty. You can run but you can't hide.

I believe too much is being read into the OP's question. The new Pope seems to espouse some of these ideas except maybe abortion. This Pope has done a great deal of work for the poor and underprivileged and seems to throw of the materialistic trappings of the Church and push more for the spiritual. Rich people, of course, can be very religious/spiritual as well. And if you look at people like the Gates they seem to strive to create a better world with their charity.

That's why I suggested checking out a Catholic Church as they seem to have changed quite a bit because of the leadership of Popes like Francis.

AND the Morses have created a beautiful city with their hard work and good ideas. They started with a lot less. They are the same people, only financially successful. I get tired of this bias against those who have made a success of their lives financially.

Kindly remember the OP asked a question about any local churches that he might consider. Posts discussing his/her personality and/or beliefs are not on topic.

That's true. Please remember that I have tried to get very rich celebrities to help with my victims/survivors 224 613 of crimes access to practical information campaign and some of them really seemed to get it quickly. I had one Villages Daily Sun reporter-- Gary Corsair-- ask about my work when he was in the neighborhood back in 2007. He did want to look at my correspondence but I said no as I did not know him and I have always been quite cautious about whom I bring into my work as I have found out the hard way that some people can be very two-faced. This applies to rich and poor alike. I certainly do not think that the poor have a monopoly on virtue and honesty.

A church/synagogue/mosque/temple is one of the first places victims of crimes used to come when the government had not much of anything in the way of assistance or support groups and the like. There are a very large number of church connected groups in the National Organization for Victim Assistance Directory of Victim/Witness Assistance providers. At least there were in the 1992 Directory when I was writing so many of these seeing what they would like to see in community libraries from 1992 through 2000 or so. http://www.trynova.org/

Please get back on topic. Begin another thread for discussions other than the original topic.

I have no powers of insight into anyone's mind and real motives, but to me, the original post was more of a statement than a question. A bit 'stirring' if you ask men.
