Default Bourbon Collectors??

My husband is wondering if there is a bourbon collectors' club in TV. Or, if there are others who might like to get together and learn about high end bourbons.

Pappy Van Winkle is all you need for high end. They have it at Burns in Tampa and only $450 a shot for the 25 year old.

So far my tastes have taken me to Bullet, Woodruff Reserve, Russells Reserve, Makers Mark and Jim Beam.

I hear that 4 Roses Small Batch Bourbon is something I should try....has anyone indulged??

Love to try Pappy!

Last fall we did a blind taste test with 6 people and six different types of bourbon. The bourbons ranged from high end top shelf to some cheaper stuff. The clear cut winners were the Costco brand and Makers Mark. The more expensive stuff did not score high by most tasters. Never tried Pappy, but I am skeptical that anything can be worth over $400 per shot? I must say that after tasting a couple of bourbons, it is hard to cleanse the pallet and get a true taste of the remaining brands.

Some find it hard to walk.

Pappy's at $400 per shot or even a bottle is out of my league. If that is what this group is about, it’s not for me. I drink Makers Mark, Buffalo Trace, Angels Envy, Eagle Rare and Blantons. That’s my price range. Let me know if this is still for me. I have lots of others, but those are my favorites

The last bottle of the 3-bottle case has turned into an investment. What will you give me for it so that you can share it with your friends?

Default Bourbon Tasting vs Collecting ?

I'd be interested in a periodic tasting get together .. I'm past the delayed gratification stage.

Thumbs down You Csn't Make It Up

With all of the problems with drinking in the villages and the numerous Al Non meetings for the families of drunks that have brought troubles to their families we are advertising for a club to organize a group to add more drunks to the list. It is one thing to decide to drink but to try to extend the family of drunks just begs the question. Some may want to just attend, (there are lists of when they meet) an al non meeting and hear the terrible family life of these people and then decide to set up an organized group to extend the harm to the families.
