Arrow Make a difference day- oct 25 pick a star-be a star

PICK A STAR AND BE A STAR originates at Wildwood Middle School where innumberable needs exist for 6/7/8th grade students. Recently, a star was picked wherein the star provider bought two pair of chinos, three polo shirts, undergarments, sneakers for an 8th grade student subjected to poverty conditions. The young man's dignity was restored. A 6th grade student who is intellectually gifted has not had an eye test in three years and presently holds his framed lenses in hand for the posts of same are ruined. Cost is $150 for eye exam, glasses and lenses at Walmart. Thirty-six students are in need of navy blue colored, zip up front, long sleeve sweathsirts (school uniform colors) as weather gets colder.
National Make A Difference Day is Saturday-OCT 25th.....this was one of Paul Newman's favorite organizations which his foundation still supports. Between 12 noon and 3 p.m. at Bacall Recreation Center, star pickers will bring their donated items and become stars. Anyone interested in helping the truly needy students from Wildwood Middle School are urged to attend or contact Greg Curtis at greg0326@comcast.net or telephone 259-6726. Members of Largo Ladies, Newport Yachtees, and Tri-County Optimists are assisting with this project......one that betters the lives of children- our future. Pick A Star and Be A Star on National Make A Difference Day-Oct 25th.
