The next meeting of The Villages Motor Racing Fan Club is Wednesday, May 3 at Colony Cottage Recreation Center, going green at 7 p.m.

The guest speaker is another first for the club – lawnmower race driver and Village of Lynnhaven resident, Bob Wardwell.

Bob has been a serious competitor for more than 20 years. He started racing at age 59 and is now 80. He races a stock-class mower that averages a speed of 30 mph. Races are sanctioned by the United States Lawnmower Racing Association and Wardwell travels all over the country to compete.

Club meetings are open to all Villages residents with appropriate Villages ID.
