The new Villages Gardening Club – West begins meeting in October at the Churchill Street Village Center from 10 to 11:30 am on the second Wednesday of the month, from October through May.

We participate in planting and maintaining the butterfly garden at Hospice of Lake & Sumter on county road 466, aided by members of The Congregational Church in the Villages. We also support The Villages’ libraries, and donate books and videos about gardening in Florida, especially central Florida gardening, bought from any donations that are made beyond our expenses.

The original Villages Gardening Club was started about 25 years ago to provide information and fellowship for newcomers to The Villages. It meets at La Hacienda Center in Spanish Springs. The second one, Villages Gardening Club – North meets at Mulberry Grove Regional Center.

All Villages Gardening Clubs meet the morning of the second Wednesday of each month so that we can provide small groups, a variety of topics, and different speakers. Announcements of speakers and their topics appear in The Villages Daily Sun.

No dues are charged for membership in the Villages Gardening Clubs. Handouts about gardening topics are generally free, or available for a nominal fee to cover the cost of printing.

All Villagers and their guests are welcome to attend The Villages Gardening Clubs to enjoy good fellowship and a great deal of information about gardening from folks experienced in Central Florida gardening, who will share with you everything that they have learned.
