Default Villages Computer Club - Quicken - New Presentation

Below is a summary of the Computer Club presentation that is on our 2020 schedule for Friday, April 10, 2020. As you know this meeting has been canceled. But, presenters in both the VCP & the VCC have committed to creating all of the scheduled presentations, despite the fact that they cannot be given in person. As a result, each of these presentations will be posted on the respective websites of each club prior to the originally planned meeting date, just as we have always done in the past. The VCC website: The VILLAGES COMPUTER CLUB Inc. - Home The VCP website: The Villages Computers Plus Club - Home.

Friday 4/10/2020 “QUICKEN, The Good, The Bad & The Ugly” by Peter Cronas.

Quicken has, since the late 1980’s, been the premier personal finance software system for millions of people. Not even Microsoft Money could take Quicken off of its throne, and in fact Microsoft abandoned Money quite a few years ago. Quicken can satisfy a wide variety of user requirements including: investment tracking, checking/savings account record keeping, budgeting and medical expense management. The objectives of this presentation are to provide the viewer with an overview of features, review the relevant history of the product and to discuss alternatives. This is not a how to use Quicken presentation; the product is way too complex for such an objective in the restricted time and space at our disposal. I think you will get quite a bit of useful info here so please take a look. Stay healthy & safe !!!

Thanks! Don't use Quicken, rely on homemade spreadsheets. Presentation was good - concise & convincing. You convinced me to avoid Quicken; I'll look into the alternatives. Appreciate posting the presentation. Hope to see more in the future.
