Default Stained Glass

Does anyone know of a stained glass club in TV? Also, are there any stained glass supply stores in the area? I'm just visiting (renting) for the month of March 2013, but will hopefully be moving in the near future. Would like to find out where I can get supplies for when I'm living in TV and join a club.

Also interested in handbell choirs.

Thanks Mimiemegan

The Lifelong Learning College has stained glass classes. I suggest you call them, ask for the name and phone no. of the instructor. They may sell supplies or have the name of a store for you.

Here's the current listing of all the clubs in TV:

http://www.districtgov.org/images/ClubsListing.pdf

I didn't see any clubs specific to Stained Glass though there are several classes offered on Glass Fusion which is somewhat similar, I gather. See p. 5 and p.48.

Also, nothing spotted re: handbell choirs.

Nice thing about the clubs - if you don't find a club that suits your need, you're always welcome to start one up!

Glass Fusion is using a lower melting point glass and melting in a Kiln usually into a form to create decorative pieces. Also using frit (glass dust ) to decorate glass that is then fired. Fired pieces can be combined into stained glass pieces but a studio that only does Fusion probably will not have flow glass that is used in nicer stained glass projects.

I noticed Hobby Lobby in Ocala has a pretty good selection. If you are only here for a short time you may not want to deal with mail order. There is a shop about 45 miles away near Inverness but they are pretty expensive. If you are interested I'll try to find a number.

There are no stained glass clubs but the college has classes every so often. The glass fusion classes are usually full and you have to deal with waiting your turn for the kiln.

I was going to take a stained glass course but since there are no clubs I figured I'd have to have all my own equipment and I really don't have the space.

I am also interested in Stained glass. I do stained glass pieces with beach glass. I would be interested in seeing a class start up.

I also do both stained and fused glass. In fact, built a small workshop in our new home and in the process of completing a sidelight for front door. (Waiting for my mail order of zinc!). Had a couple of great supply stores in Ohio but the only one I found here is in Sarasota.......Delphi and FedEx love me! Maybe we could start our own little group.....formally or informally.
