Default Villages Computer Club - setting up a new or existing computer - Friday 1/17

Have questions about setting up a new or existing computer - then come to Rohan 1pm, January 17th.
Over the holiday season many people take advantage of good sales on computers to buy a new one or upgrade an older machine. However, a new or upgraded computer needs to be setup to run efficiently in a manner that is pleasing to the user. However, the setup task can be confusing and overwhelming given the myriad of options affecting such things, for example, as security, privacy, appearance and software organization. The net result for many users is that these options are not set optimally resulting in privacy, security and operability problems. In his talk titled “Managing your Computer Files: Making Sense of the Chaos” scheduled for January 17th, 1pm at Rohan, Gene Clark will review setting up a PC and provide excellent guidance and tips on the setup and file management processes. This talk is an great resource for those looking to buy a new computer and for all of us who have recently setup a computer. Be sure to attend!

Or you can come to Eisenhower Rec Center at 1PM Monday Jan 13th and ask me about a Chromebook and/or Linux.

Are you interested in moving the web browser (application) you are currently using OR the bookmarks you have stored on the old computer? If the former, what browser do you use and why do you want to use that old software instead of a newer version?

All of your apps and data can be transferred from your old computer to a new machine with this program:

PCmover Home – Laplink(R)
