Default Villages Computer Club - Online Data Privacy - 2/28

Concerned about the privacy of your data while online? If so, come to Lake Miona Friday at 1 pm for a presentation on “Internet Privacy”

Our online activities on any connected device are increasingly monitored by many software applications ranging from operating systems, search tools (e.g. Google search), browsers and many apps. The scope of data collected is huge and includes such items as shopping information, online interests, political views, and even sensitive health information. Ultimately, this data allows unknown entities to construct a digital profile for each of us whether we want this to happen or not! In their presentation titled “Internet Privacy” scheduled for Friday February 28th at Lake Miona, John Campbell and Peter Cronas will discuss the scope of the problem and provide information on defense mechanisms and counter measures. For anyone concerned about their privacy while online this is a must attend session! Don’t miss it!
Our meetings are open to all Villages residents and feature a 45-minute presentation on a subject of interest, followed by a short break for refreshments, and 50-50 drawings. Afterward, we reconvene to answer questions members have asked our GURUs before the meeting started. Please visit: The VILLAGES COMPUTER CLUB Inc. - Home for more info.
